The Rendezvous.

We met.

Smiled at each other.

Inquired about each other’s well-being.

I said, “I’m good,” she had been too.

I shouldn’t have left her. She shouldn’t have let me go.

I had dreams to fulfil. She had her obligations.

Our smile was fake, the answers too.

I knew. She knew too.
